COVID-19 closures - resources for parents and teachers.

The National PTA website offers several resources to help parents deal with the COVID-19 crisis.  Resources include how to talk to your child about the pandemic, as well as resources for home. https://www.pta.org/home/family-resources/coronavirus-information

https://www.edc.org/resources-covid-19-crisis - resources from the Education Development Center to help parents and caregivers deal with the crisis and learning resources for home.

http://www.parenttoolkit.com/ Parent Toolkit is a one-stop resource developed with parents in mind. It’s produced by NBC News Learn and supported by Pearson and includes information about almost every aspect of your child’s development, because they're all connected.

This site provides a wealth of resources from indoor recess, crafts, games, cooking, science experiments and more!  They can also participate in community discussions!

https://stories.audible.com/start-listen?ref_=pe_25733880_489583850 Audible, an Amazon Company, is now offering free stories free to stream to your desktop, laptop, phone, or tablet.  The stories are offered in six different languages.

https://nrich.maths.org/public/topic.php?group_id=8&code=-334#results - Playing math games, especially strategic and thinking games, will help students develop number sense, fluency, and strategies.  This site has a list of different games, some easily played with dice or cards and some common games that can be purchased.

This site is developed by Cathy (Carter) Shide, consultant, to help districts with math instruction. The focus is creating coherent math instruction that makes sense to students.
